Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The International Expertise Center ChildAbduction.COM (IECC) specializes exclusively in cases involving international parental child abduction. This includes child kidnapping, wrongful removal, and illegal retention of children across borders. We work only on behalf of left-behind parents and always act in the best interests of the child.
The IECC operates worldwide in both Hague Convention and non-Hague Convention countries. In non-Hague cases, judicial procedures can be slow or ineffective. Our experience allows us to apply alternative legal, diplomatic, and negotiation-based strategies to increase the chances of a safe recovery.
The IECC does not use illegal or violent methods under any circumstances. All interventions are legal, ethical, and carefully coordinated. Any recovery action is carried out in cooperation with local authorities, police, prosecutors, and/or Interpol where required.
Time is critical. The longer a child remains abroad, the greater the emotional, psychological, and legal challenges become. Early intervention significantly improves the chances of recovery before the child becomes fully settled in a new environment. This is why we strongly advise parents to act immediately.
The IECC places strong emphasis on aftercare. Once a child is returned, both the child and the left-behind parent may need guidance and support. We help ensure stability, assist with follow-up legal steps if needed, and support the reunification process to protect the child’s long-term well-being.

Important!
We strongly discourage taking matters into your own hands. The measures could be illegal and may delay your child’s return. Attempts to re-abduct your child(ren) violently from any country may:
- Endanger you, your child(ren), and others;
- Prejudice any future judicial efforts you might wish to make in the abducted-to state;
- Even result in arrest and imprisonment for many years of you and your accomplices.
There is no guarantee that the chain of violent abductions would end with the one committed by you. A parent who has violently re-abducted a child may be forced to live in permanent fear, constantly concealing their whereabouts.
If you are contemplating such desperate measures, consider the emotional trauma inflicted on a child who is a victim of violent abduction and violent re-abduction. We discourage such actions not only because they are illegal, but also because of possible psychological harm to the child.
We do not use illegal methods; we intervene in another way. Our method of work is strategically un-orthodox, yet fully legal and safe, with the assistance of our strong global network. Your case needs to be continuously coached, monitored, and pushed forward by our organization.
Notice: We only share photographs with the explicit consent of both our client and the concerned (now adult) child. Children are always shared in an unrecognizable manner. Individuals who are not anonymized are typically our own staff members, cooperating partners, or public authorities. Are you personally depicted in one of the photographs? Please contact us for correction or removal. Some images may be perceived as distressing due to the presence of police or military personnel. In certain cases, court orders that are not properly respected by local authorities are enforced accordingly, which in some countries may result in the presence of law enforcement, judicial authorities, or even military forces. Some photographs are not available due to ongoing legal proceedings or at the request of parents or family members. It is strictly prohibited to reproduce, distribute, or otherwise use these photographs without our prior consent or that of the parents.
